I have three avocadoes at home waiting for me to devour them tonight, and I have no clue exactly how to pursue this conundrum.
First, of course, I can always cut them up in slices and eat them with some sliced tomatoes, a little salt on top and drizzle a little balsamic vinigarette. A classic, simple, and delicous side dish that always pleases the diner.
Second, we could throw it back to my Homemade Guacamole piece written some months back. This would prove to be practicle as it would also create an hors d'oevre (or derv) that can be used over the next couple of nights. I would, however, have to think of another side dish - no issue at all though.
I'll spend my next couple of hours before dinner thinking about what to do - and a productive couple of hours it will be - but right now the leading candidate is to do them both. After all, this is America.
What did I end up doing you are wondering? Well, that night I of course prepared some guacamole with two of the avocadoes. The third managed to hang on for a couple more days and ate a half with a spoon and Italian dressing as a side for my lunch. That leaves one half remaining, which someone ate over a couple beers.
ReplyDeleteIt worked out well for all parties involved. mmmm...avocado. Now I want a donut.
